My short-term goals are to graduate from Illinois Tech with a biology degree, gain research experience, as well as attend medical school. I am currently doing research within the department of biological sciences, and hopefully I will continue to gain great lab experience that will prepare me to work in the science field. After completing medical school and working in local hospitals, I will help those who are not able to readily afford medical expenses to still be able to access basic health care in communities throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
My long-term goals are to have a medical career not limited to local hospitals but countries worldwide, improving health care internationally. In addition, I would love to become a spokesperson for people with scoliosis and sickle cell by creating my own organizations or helping existing groups to raise funds. If fortunate enough, I will join organizations such as Doctors without Borders, United Nations, and the World Health Organization. I ultimately aspire to travel all over the world and offer my services internationally to those who are truly in need.
