Major and Graduation
Aerospace Engineering ~ May 2021
I always strive to keep a balanced life while maintaining a forward thinking vision of my long term goals. I believe a balanced life is not possible without positive productivity and a focus on personal health. I will employ positive productivity by regularly assessing what activities I expend my energy and self-control. This means I must learn to be selfish and not waste energy on tasks that do not provide personal growth or satisfaction. This has proven to be difficult for me in the past, as I tend to overfill my schedule in attempt to make others around me happy. I will focus on my physical health through routine exercise and my mental health through de-stress activities such as practicing guitar and social interaction.
My main short term goal is to find my love for learning again. I have lost my love for learning these past two years of college. This has significantly affected my mental health, life satisfaction, and overall academic achievement. I am not sure where to start, but I hope to find something in the scientific world to spike my interest, creating an upward spiral of learning.
This year will be my third year in the Leadership Academy and I hope to set a good example for the new students entering the academy. I am also the team lead for the Chicago Undergraduate Leadership Conference. I aim to learn many new skills in this new position and lead my team to accomplishing our lofty goal of 200 attendees and 20+ student presenters. After this year, I hope to still be a part of the board of the Chicago Undergraduate Leadership Conference and offer my experiential knowledge to the new team leads.
My main long term goal is to find a way to use my engineering education to help people and make other lives better. I believe strongly that the goal of any education, especially engineering and science, is to making life easier through technological advancement. I also aim to build and maintain strong, long lasting relationships with my friends and family. My ideal self in twenty years would be married with children, working for my own business with the financial freedom to help others more and travel the world.
