Major and graduation

Architecture ~ May 2022

Short-Term Goals

My short-term goals include participating in various activities and experiences that allow me to learn, grow, and enjoy my time at IIT. I aim to get as involved as I can while maintaining a high GPA. One of my main goals is to gain as much knowledge as I can about the discipline I want to build a future in, architecture. I also would like to gain some background in engineering. In order to do this, I have joined clubs such as AIAS and NOMAS. I also plan on applying for internships throughout my college summers and making lasting connections. In addition, I plan to continue developing my leadership skills by taking up roles in various organizations on campus and off. I also plan on continuing to work with the local organizations I have volunteered for throughout high school. As a member of the Leadership Academy, I hope to improve and evolve my leadership skills, learn from members around me, and take advantage of all the opportunities the Academy offers. I know that my college life will be very busy, but I’m excited for the challenge!

Long-Term Goals

Once I complete my Bachelor of Architecture degree, I hope to continue my schooling and gain a Master’s degree. I would like to take and pass all the Architecture Registration Exams, as well as gain the required hours to qualify for registration. Once I am certified as an architect, and during the process, I would like to work at architecture firms here in Chicago. I also aim to continue my volunteer and community service work. I would like to become a volunteer architect for the ACE Mentor Program, an after school program that truly impacted me during high school. This would allow me to give back to the community and teach students about the importance of STEM. It will also give me the opportunity to help them discover and work towards their goals. Growing my network is also important to me, therefore I would like to become an active member of the alumni association and other professional associations after graduation. I look forward to growing as a person and working hard for my future.
